Description

Mystere was the first human soul to descend to the Shinigami world, and is known as the Death Master. Shortly after she discovered that she could take the souls of dying humans, she met a dying young girl who asked if she was a shinigami and since then has believed that she is a shinigami despite the fact that she is merely a human.

Mystere seems to be more powerful than the shimingami, which fits since she is in charge of them all, and she can weild the Scythe of Fate which can take the soul of any human, dying or otherwise. In her quarters in the shinigami world, there is a small orb which has a picture of the little girl that made her believe that she was a shinigami, as well as the Master List, a list of all humans fated to die.
